I love my neighborhood: Wicker Park / Bucktown

I'll be honest, I'm just trying to lure my VA friends out here to visit me...

While Ike and I took our morning walk, cigarette and coffee in hand in the cool morning air, I took a few shots up and down Milwaukee Avenue.  My neighborhood is fantastic: full of vintage shops, restaurant patios, shaded sidewalks, wall murals, and funky architecture.

What Makes It Mine

So of course, there are a lot of improvements I would love to make on my apartment.  But I don't know, last night I just had a little moment, and I though "it's mine" and I liked it.

I like this place with the messy kitchen table, the smell of that popcorn that I burned a little bit, the sound of my records, the adorable pets to cuddle up with, the breezy window with a little bit of rain coming through, the couch I can put my boots on.  It's alright with me.

Sometimes I forget what an interesting year I had.

I really hope 2013 is even better!

Everyday Stuff

I've been watching this guy flirt with this girl outside of my dining room window for like an hour.  It's cute, they're making me smile.

Ike has the most adorable way of begging to be put on the couch -- he scrapes the couch cushions with his little paws, then gives me this pathetic look... it always works.
