Are you ready for some (adorable) pitifulness?

Tuesday morning when I woke up, Ike was under the bed, and refusing to come out for his walk with Dave.  I got down on the floor, and he came out, but he was itching his butt frantically, flipping around and yelping a little bit.  Dave noticed that there was a wet spot on his bottom, and when we inspected further, it wasn't pretty...

I quickly called into work, and yes, in my frantic state, the reason I stated was indeed "There's something wrong with my dog's butt!"  Not my proudest moment, for sure.

We rushed him over to Heal (read my review on Yelp, they're just plain awesome), and they got him in pretty quickly.  I'll spare you the gory details, but the consensus was two infections, one of the ear variety, and one, of course, of the butt variety.  He had to stay there for a few hours, be sedated, and came out with quite the interesting haircut (shaved bottom) and a stylin' Elizabethan collar.  He has to wear it for the next two weeks, and he's also taking antibiotics and pain medications.

He was pretty woozy that first night and the next morning, but he's doing okay now.  He's been really lovey-dovey, which is nice for me (he's not typically much of a cuddler), and he's adjusting to his new fashion accessory slowly but surely.

Thank you to everyone who sent us their well-wishes!

And, now... appropriately pitiful pictures of the lil' honey.

On the way to the vet.  Yes, in a Marc Jacobs bag.  Always stylin'.
Immediately after leaving the doc's office.

A somewhat-still-drugged Ike, hanging out on the couch.

    1. Aw, thank you, and Ike thanks you, too! He's feeling much better, but getting tired of wearing his cone.
