New Necklace Line

I'm taking these vintage photos, and running with them!  I've made and listed five, so far, and I'm hoping they will get a good reaction, because they're fun to make.  Imagine that there really is only one -- I just find that fascinating, to be able to wear someones history around your neck, and to be the only one in the world who has it.

Vintage Sheet Music

I was finally getting around to cleaning up my craft table/desk, when I came across these piles of vintage sheet music that I had been waiting to go through.

It turns out it's an absolute treasure-trove, and I listed a few of the neater items in my Etsy shop, as well as random bundles of sheet music to use in crafts or for making unique Valentine's.  Some of them date back as far as the 1920s, and the bundles are as old as the 1900s!

Etsy Shops Galore!

Okay, yes, I do already have an Etsy shop (Big City Bumpkin), where I mainly sell photographs and occasionally cool vintage items...

But, I really like to compartmentalize, so I opened a second shop dedicated only to chickens and roosters (Maison de Coqs).  This is part resolution to pare down my own chicken/rooster collection, and also an outlet that will allow me to buy MORE chickens/roosters, only for the purpose of "re-homing" them to people who will love them as much as I would (but who probably have a little more room than I do).

What I'm Selling... Salty & Peppy

I have love these little kitty salt & pepper shakers for a long time, taking them with me through three houses, eight apartments, and two states (not to mention all of the travelling in between)... but I think it's finally time for them to find a new home.

If they don't sell on Etsy this time, I won't try again, I'll just consider it a sign that they really are supposed to be part of my family.  (I do love them dearly, but I'm running out of room in this little apartment!)

I would love to see them go to someone who would really love and appreciate them!

Design & my Momma

I think it happened a little while after I moved to Chicago.  I had escaped a tumultuous (to say the least) relationship, and was suddenly and completely alone in this city.  I had to find an apartment, a job, and all the things around me that make my home.  I think that's when I started to gravitate towards my Momma's style.  Soft things, pretty things, light-colored things.  Where before my style had been extremely bold, dramatic, and more often than not, mismatched, I began to want the things around me that reminded me of her.  Because she couldn't be there to hold me, having things that looked like hers surrounded me like the hug she would have given me.
